Educational Escape Room: Building Nursing Knowledge through Interactive Games and Puzzles

Grants

Abstract

  • Faculty will develop three simulation experiences using the concept of Escape Rooms. Students will be required to analyze patient scenarios and intervene appropriately to unlock clues that further the patient's treatment. When students have successfully treated the patient, they will be given the final code which allows them to "escape" from the simulation lab. The simulations will occur during the 1st, 2nd and 5th semesters of the pre-licensure nursing program. All students in the pre-licensure BSN will participate in all three escape room simulations.
